I remember when "Thunder Valley" had no armco or anything. Very scenic...but dangerous.Racing car technology and brute speed (tire technology,aerodynamics,unlimited engine displacement outpaced safety at racetracks like Road America for a time.An amazing snapshot this film is.
The 1967 Can Am at Elkhart Lake was my first ever road race and I can still feel the excitement. We all expected Mark Donohoe to come around after the first lap, and Dennie Hume was pushing like a mad man in a car that was unbeatable !!!
