newbie; hopefully not a dumb zf?

can you tell the difference between zf 5ds-25-0 -1 -2 from the outside case? if so how do you tell. and is one worth more or better than the next. I am trying to help a friend whom is planning to get into a gt40 soon so the more info I have the better I can help her. Ps. she is cute!

The '0' box would normally be a 4 bolt bellhousing flange and no cross bolts in the top cover, generally aluminium sideplates and is normally shorter by about 1/2"
The '1' box may be 4 or 6 bolt bellhousing flange, it was changed towards the '2' box over a period of time.
The '2' box will be a 6 bolt flange and the side plates usually incorporate the crossbolts and are steel.
