Aluminum Update

As promised in the previous thread on our 427 aluminum Windsor, we made noise in the (same) dyno room yesterday and for those that care here's the latest from World.
The only change to the previous combination was the switch to our brand-new 18 deg Man OWar aluminum head. This head features 235cc runners, 2.08 x 1.60 Manley valves, 64cc chambers and standard port locations. This was the first time they've run. Our SuperFlow has been down for weeks so sorry, no flow numbers. But we do have RESULTS.

The previous best as posted was 560HP at 6300 and 6400 RPM with our "old" aluminum head. As you can see here 573 was made (on pump gas) from 6300 to 6500RPM. The really interesting thing is that prior to 5000, the two dyno sheets are within 1 or 2 HP of each other. From 5000 and up the new head steadily produced 3-5-7HP more until the 13 HP gain at the very top.
A subsequent pull to 6700 saw a decline to 569HP so testing stopped. There were signs that a stouter spring combination would have easily produced more power and we'll persue that in the future. These heads can move a lot of air.
This will become our new standard aluminum head and the soon to be released 10 deg., 285cc monster head will be tested when we get them from the foundry.
Also as promised, we weighed it right off the dyno with 6 qts of oil in it-399 lbs. That's less starter, fuel and water pumps but otherwise complete.
Our new aluminum block continues to act perfectly with no strain, leaks or issues. We'll have them in quantity at the end of next month I'm told.
