917 and public prosecution service

Hi everyone,

for some quite interesting pics go to

Norisringhistorie

which covers the history of racing at Nuremberg.

Lots of rare pics not only of GT40s, T70s and 917s but also a detailed analysis of Pedro Rodriguez`s fatal accident in 1971. (Select the period and then click on "Fotos" on top right.)

After his death german prosecutors took command and ordered an enquiry which included doing comparative driving tests with a 917 K (chassis-nr.30).

Marcus, thanks for the site. Great pictures. Is that a roofless 917 in the third picture from the bottom of the first column, car number 51? If so, do you know the story behind it? Thanks.

Gregg,

it`s a very rare car, a 907 converted into a spyder by its by then driver Hans Dieter Blatzheim. This very car ran a 2000 cc flat six. He campaigned the car in the German Interseries from 1970 onwards.
