Hello from Georgia

Hello All,

I'm brand new here, heard about the forum from the locostusa group. I've dreamt of building a GT40 for decades, but odds are it isn't to be.

I've also long had a fondness for the old Lotus Seven, but the originals and the earlier Caterhams don't work well for a 6'4" guy.

Back in the early '90s I found out about a small company in Maryland that was making a slightly oversized Seven. Rotus handbuilt frames and equipped them with Toyota running gear. The extra engine bay room fits a Buick/Rover 3.5L like a glove.

I finished mine in '97 and autocrossed and street drove it until a few years ago when some fiberglass damage and life events caused it to be parked.

This spring I hope to get it back on the road

Cheers,

John

When I can find my pics of her in her prime, I'll post

Welcome to the forum John. The early Rotus cars were almost all rotary engined, but the engine bay was big enough to fit a SBC or other V-8. Nice car, all of them. At 6'4" I can see how you would have a tight fit in a typical Seven clone. Have fun and enjoy the forum.
