Great vintage Sebring photos (including GT40)

Hey guys,

Here's a link worth devoting a half-hour or so to:

Collection: Vintage Race Car Photos & Drivers

This fellow and his wife were safety officials at Daytona and Sebring in the 1960s and 1970s, and he shot loads of intimate photos. He has them divided into three categories; the latter one is a random assortment of race photos, in no particular order, so it bounces back and forth from the 1960s to the 1970s randomly. There are a few GT40 shots including one of a road car on the back side of the pits.

You can view the thumbnails, or you can watch them in full-screen in a slideshow.

Neat!

Wow Mike - just a fantastic collection. When men were men, women wore their hair long and their skirts short, mechanics had dirty hands and Corvettes rolled like a bulk carrier in a gale on Lake Michigan....

Anyone notice how nearly 100% of those cars ran very high off the ground? One of the biggest beefs from some members these days is that the replica cars seem to run with a "high ground clearance". Oh yeah? Take a look through that lot then! It was all about mechanical grip from huge tyres - no ground hugging effects then....
