This day, held at Queensland Raceway last Sunday, was organised by ex V8 Supercar driver David Besnard to raise funds for the victims of floods in North Queensland and bushfires in Victoria.
The Cobra club in Queensland (to which most GT40 owners also belong) was invited to participate in the day which included static displays as well as parade laps by Cobras, GT40s and other road cars although we were limited to 110kph on the straights.
The main fundraisers were paid rides in a 3 seat V8 Supercar and also a Porsche Cup car. Driven by present day and past V8 Supercar drivers, these were very popular during the day.
All in all a very enjoyable day and I think a successful fund raiser.
