SL-EV

Another very trick car being built in house...for a pioneering Dr. Alex Smith.

Lithium polymer powered SL-EV.

We manufactured the watercooled battery boxes...

Pictured are three of the six power packs....

The all up weight of the car is within 75lbs of my LS7 SL-C...

Alex has been the driving force behind this project and has brought some very cool ideas to the table...which we have made reality for him.

Gorgeous engineering. Ought to qualify for some of that $750 billion stimulus package money - it is "green" after all ! !

Water cooled lithium battery packs. I am guessing those jewels would be the equilivant of a lot of gallons of gas at $2.00 a gallon . . .

What does one use for a transmission on such a project?

No transmission...direct drive using a Ford IRS diff.

Clever electronic control of the AC motor will be all that is required.

I thought that looked like the IRS from a Cobra or 90's T-Bird. Good stuff. I'd love to see the final version of this project.
