Original Mk I for sale in Australia

Saw this in the paper today:

A classic 1960s Ford GT40 could be on the way to a new Australian record.

The retired racer is currently part of the privately-owned David Bowden Collection of ultra-desirable road and race cars - including 1970s touring cars raced by Allan Moffat, Ian Geoghegan and Norm Beechey - in Queensland, but has just been put up for sale. The final price could easily top $2 million despite the global economic crisis.

Re: Original Mk I for sale in Australia - 1034

I imagine this will restrict the market and hence somewhat affect the price :

"But there is a catch for the sale of the GT40 - Bowden does not want the car to leave Australia."

Hi Guys,

The press got a bit romantic with that story. We would LIKE it to stay in Oz, so we have at least one down here, but we're very real and motivated about selling her. Check www.ecurieinvestments.com for pricing etc. Will PX on a T-70, Genuine Cobra, 300SL Roadster etc too. Sorry Mods' if this sounds like an ad, but that press release was a bit misleading and I feel the need to clear it up. Cheers and best regards, Chris.
