This is not the old "short water pump" chestnut, rather I was wondering if there are different length of "standard" water pump on the 302?
I've just been lining up my pulleys (by eye) and it seems as if the pump is (roughly) a half inch longer than it needs to be.
The engine came from another GTD where the owner replaced it with an uprated "crate" engine but he kept his water pump. This means I have the water pump from the crate engine on mine.
Are there several lengths of pump or is it just standard and "short" versions?
