Marcon Classic & Prestige 2012

Hi

Here's a couple of shots of my Dax GT40 and a few others. Went to the above show over the weekend. Unexpected honour to win the category - Best Sportscar ! Wow

Some nice machinery there.

Hi Jimmy

Thanks for that. I agree about the Alpine. Lovely little car. Here's another photo. They seem to go for quite a lot of money. Anything between 40 to 90,000 euros. Not too sure what that is in real money. I suppose that's pretty good considering that is for an original. Slightly different to GT40 money. Suprised no one seems to have tried to make a kit, or even continuation cars. They seem pretty straightforward with regard to their chassis and fibreglass body. I suppose that's for another forum anyway.

Regards

Stephen

very nice car that DAX GT40, you not see or hear of many DAX GT40, most only Cobra's.
btw, what is that yellow car? looks like a kit? a bit little Alpine V6 and Lotus Europa crossing.

Hi Rene

The little yellow car is something called a "JIDE". A French manufacturer. I think they made about 70 or so. Mainly for racing. It seems to be related to Macadier. A French kit / race car manufacturer, who also made a few GT40 kits as well. Not too sure on the spec's though. Its worth doing a bit of googling to see what you can dig up. Most of these French manufacturers seem to have been around in the 70's and 80's. It seems impossible for them to do the same thing in France today. Hope someone will tell me I'm wrong.

thx Stephen, nice little car, they say (searched google ;-) it was a bit like the Alpine A110 but then instead of the Alpine's rear engined, it was/is mid-engined which I like more. also only about 600kg and very low, also with the 1.300cc and 1.600cc tuned engine's. I found some nice looking JIDE's on the web so thx for the tip.
