The Howmet turbine must have been something to drive....or pilot.
At every corner you'd have to lift early to bleed off thrust (torque) as there's no compression breaking, then apply throttle early to build thrust before exting a corner. Passing on a slower car in traffic takes planning. Again throttle has to be applied early to build thrust to pass.
Kind of like the Chevy Vega I once had. Passing a car took planning. Drop back, spot the point where it's safe to pass, floor it and run up behind the slower car, if you did it right the clear spot is right were you are, then whip on around. Fun!
