Dont laugh.

It states miscellaneous hobby's ,So I will step outside the square for a car site.

I was ratting through photos of intake manifolds that I had made over the years and found this.
It was a few years back, I made it out of 1.6mm sheet alloy.
It is about 30 pieces welded and file finished.

I do the odd thing now and then because it takes your mind off cars.
This was purely for the challenge.
It is life size.

If there's one thing I can't stand it's someone who is talented in ways I'd like to be...

That looks pretty darn good to me Jim.

Are you sure it's not the other way around though - the cars taking your mind off other things? ;p

If you ever feel like knocking up a suit of armour let me know. :)
(And yes that's a double entendre ;p )

Jim,

For what it's worth I think it's amazing, although it's something else to make me feel really inadequate :(

Not that crap is holy, but HOLY CRAP!!! That's some quality art!!

Absolutely amazing. Already it must be worth BIG BUCKS . Jim have you "painted" your name in a corner to secure its authenticity , just like Rembrandt, Matisse et al.?

A little bit of beauty in one's life makes the days of rain worth while. By the way.... where is the rest of her?

Thanks guys

Z no never signed it, It sat in the bathroom at work for about a year so I gave it away to someone, they appreciated it.

Absolutely brilliant Jim. I salute you. I wouldn't know one end of a welder from the other and my metal working skills are rudimentary at best - hence my having someone who knows what they are doing build my chassis. I can only dabble in oils. This one is called "Pop Art".

Could have a female, scantily clad, piece of toast instead. Call it "Pop Tart"..smile...

No Cris its not the wife ,like I said you are allowed to use your imagination though.

Brian that is excellent, I like art across a broad spectrum.
I like scultures I would like to paint, the wife gets nervous when I make something so I have claimed the garden as mine she can have the house.

I think others should share and put up whatever rocks your boat.

No mocking guys it takes courage to put your stuff out their.

I've done cover bands since college but while living in Phoenix, I got hooked up with these guys - Tonecast. It was a blast and I really miss playing with them. The original tunes they had were very enjoyable to play and they were incredibly talented people. I felt lucky to get hooked up with them.

We ran a video camera during the gigs... Pretty poor quality but you get the feel.

Couple originals (I'm the dork on the right):

Couple covers:
Lead singer hadn't heard the song before. We made him sing it anyway. He kinda got it (which also means he kinda didn't):
