I'm sure most of us familiar withthe 1/18
scale Eagles Race series of GT 40 diecast.
Nice assortment, some styling errors
(Mark II with small blocks), but overall
good quality at great price $ 25 each.

This year a few more GT 40's die cast got released in 1/18 and 1/24 scale with more
detail by Revell and others.
Better quality...higher price $ 99 to $ 150.

I just received an update from Replicarz
(www.replicarz.com) that the long awaited
1/12 scale issue of the Mark IV is scheduled
for January delivery. Unbelievable detail...
with unbelievable price at $ 489!

Hopefully someone will do a 1/18 scale
Mark IV at a 1/18 scale price!

I have one of the 1:20 Revell Creative
Masters, the no.6 car. Nice piece. Much
better than the 1:18 Eagle's Race. There
are a few on Ebay right now, for less than
$100. I got mine for about $90 including
S/H.

The 1:12 model you are referring to is
the GMP car. They will be doing a MkII and
a MkIb eventually. They are VERY well
made pieces.

Also, Le Mans Miniatures made a really
nice resin kit with photo-ethced pieces.
The doors are hinged like the real thing,
as are the clips. The wheels are removable,
and steerable.

Things like this are holding me over until
I can get the real deal. Hopefully, I don't
have to wait much longer.

Don't forget about the newer GT-40's in 1/18 from a company called Exoto.
Very nice detail, reasonable prices.
Check ebay.

Not to change the subject, but I have to wonder why anyone would paint a GT40 black.
The car is hot enough inside (less A/C) and
black shows every little defect/wave in the
bodywork. Oh well...to each his own!

The year 1966 the number 2 on the door, the drivers Chris Amon and Bruce Mclaren, the car a Mk 11 GT40 completed 3000 miles at an average speed of over 125MPH.
As Henry Ford said you can have it in any colour as long as its Black!!!!

The nights are long and wet at Le Mans.
