Arrow GT40s.com Summer Fund Drive

Dear Members,

I trust that GT40s.com is still serving your needs as the GT40, and as of late the mid-engined supercar, forum of choice.

GT40s.com would not exist without the financial contributions of our Supporting Vendors and Supporting Members. Funds collected by GT40s.com is used to operate the service, various domain names, software/programming updates, and pay for yearly software licences.

GT40s.com wasn't quite able to break in for 2011. Part of the fund shortfall was due to decline in the number of vendors for the 2011 calendar year. And I believe that another portion of our funds shortage was due to the fact I turned off "Auto Membership Renewals" in our software because we were having problems and complaints with that process.

2012 looks to be a bit better financially since we've had a few more vendors request to join and advertise on the site. Supporter membership is fairly flat though, so if you're a brand new member getting use out of the site, or a long time member that is still active but non-supporting, then think about becoming a Supporting Member even at the lowest level. The funds will be put to good use and help update the look and feel of the site as well as move it to the new VB Forum software, an upgrade we need to accomplish.

Support GT40s.com

I'd also like to point out that you certainly are not required to support the site every year, or at all. GT40s.com is 100% free for all content and information. You can donate at the lowest level, $35, and then use the site for ten years for $3.50 a year. While I hope that we each get more than $3.50 in entertainment value per year here, I just wish to mention that the site can cost as much, or as little, to use as you wish.

If you'd like to avoid PayPal and send contributions then please PM me and I'll provide you with the information you'll need. And, if you have any questions and concerns about the forum, or updates on the forum you'd like to see, then please let me know. I want the site to be as useful as possible to all of our members.

Thank you,
Ron

Re: GT40s.com Summer Fund Drive

Six months ago I wrote to Ron and said I would like to join but I do not have a credit card. I suggested sending a check and not crediting my membership until it cleared. Never heard a word back. A couple of months ago, I inquired in a note to Rick Muck about joining again, and this time I gave in and acquired a debit card. Rick said he would forward my note to Ron, and that Ron would get back to me. Two days ago, I attempted to join but they only accept PayPal. I have a debit card, or a personal check. I am more than willing to join. If they don't accept debit cards then send me a mailing address, and the proper payee, and I'll send my check. Thanks, Robert

I wish the auto-payment feature was still active, but sending a reminder once a year is the next best thing.

Payment made!

Re: GT40s.com Summer Fund Drive

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the support. GT40s.com has been up nearly, let's see, about eleven years this summer. Wow. I still feel like we're a relatively small and close knit group even though we've got a few thousand active members and over thirteen thousand total users.

Re: GT40s.com Summer Fund Drive

I'd like to thank everyone that has become a supporter of the forum over the last week or so, especially those that were Lifetime Supporters who wanted to continue to fund the site. That is wonderful that after contributing to the site as a Lifetime member you find enough value in GT40s.com to offer another contribution. In additional to the regular core group of supporters we had about twenty new people sign up as Gold, Silver, or Bronze supporters and that is good to see.

If you're a regular user of the site, or a new user planning to use the site during your upcoming hobby splurge, then I urge to to sign up and become a supporter of GT40s.com. And if you're using the site to sell goods in the Garage Sale and you're not a supporter, well, I strongly urge you to get on board at least at the minimum level and support the site that gives you a market to sell into.

Thanks much,
Ron

C'mon guys, like Michael said, step up to the plate.

This site has been a great resource, and a time and money saver for many of us.

Certainly a few bucks isn't going to make or break most of us, and it will certainly assure this forum continues into the future, and also support the work that Ron and his moderators do selflessly every day.

How about a PayPal address for donations? I don't want to downgrade my membership or extend it beyond 2038.+

You can certainly send funds direct:

Ron Earp

However, if you do it through PayPal and let me know I can fix the membership icon too. I've had to fix a couple of them and it isn't a problem.

Thanks much!

Just renewed my subscription for the year, very small price to pay for the info I gain.
Big thanks goes to Ron for maintaining such a great forum.
