These thread size gauges are very useful. I would highly recommend them. They will give you the answer to all your thread size questions, metric and SAE, male and female. You can get them from Bolt Depot.com. Just yesterday, I used these about six times while ordering hardware for a new build. (I have a fetish for ARP and other high-end hardware)
I wore these around my neck, like beads, to Cars & Coffee a couple of weeks ago and several people told me later that they went home and ordered them, and thanked me profusely.
SAE Sizes Covered:
6-32, 8-32, 10-24, 10-32, 1/4-20, 1/4-28, 5/16-18, 5/16-24, 3/8-16, 3/8-24, 7/16-14, 7/16-20, 1/2-13, 1/2-20
Metric Sizes Covered:
4mm x 0.7, 5mm x 0.8, 6mm x 1.0, 8mm x 1.25, 8mm x 1.0, 10mm x 1.5, 10mm x 1.25, 10mm x 1.0, 12mm x 1.75, 12mm x 1.5, 12mm x 1.25
