Racelogic traction control front hub upgrade?

The front hubs used on our SLCs are from a 1984 to 1990 C4 Corvette. If we are using the Racelogic traction control and want a finer resolution signal than can be obtained from using the back of the wheel studs can we use the 1991 to 1996 C4 Corvette hubs instead?

From the pictures I have included of the newer hubs you can see that they just might fit. The ABS sensor connector plugs in from the center. This would be a fantastic upgrade for those of us using the Racelogic traction control.

Fran would you care to comment please!

That would be interesting if it worked. You'd have to do something like the tone rings on the transaxle at the rear so all the sensors were the ABS type, or develop a similar OEM ABS sensor for the rear.

That's because the Racelogic TC ECUs are sold in two different, incompatible flavors of their optional sendors, and the OEM ABS type. You can't mix one ECU type with a different sender. IOW, this approach might work if you already have the correct RL ECU box (the one for OEM sensors). If you have the type for their external senders, you must use those.

Look at these front hubs available for the C4 Corvettes as well. They are serviceable with heavy duty tapered Timken roller bearings from a 3/4 ton truck. They would be fantastic for track cars.

In addition, due to the fact these hubs can be disassembled you could machine a different ring to attach to the end of the stub shaft then modify the end cap to mount a traditional racelogic sensor.

Good point Will....thanks!

Perhaps Racelogic could modify the box for ABS sensors up front.
