Fran is of course correct. The big long number that is the RCR chassis number on the Manufactures Origin Document looks like a VIN number and may confuse the local DMV guy if he isn't familiar with self built cars. Just tell him/her that that long number is a RCR chassis/internal RCR transaction number and not a VIN number and all will go well.
My California DMV guy called RCR and it was all sorted with that one phone call.
Your state will then issue a real VIN number. No problem.
