MK I vs MK II

The RCR is a MKI and the superformance is a MKII. The difference is in the rear end of the car. I believe the MKI has more curves. Just look at the 2 web sites and you will see what I am talking about. My personal preference is for the MKI.

I haven't seen pictures of Superformance's version of the MKI but here is a picture of a 1964 MKI. As stated above, the biggest difference is the rear. The MKI is a little more curvy and does not have all of the air scoops.

There are (were) several different versions of the MK I, including
two different nostrils and three different rear ends.
Best bet is to get a hold of a couple GT40 books.

For huge/detailed pictures, you can't beat " The Ford that Beat Ferrari",
which was just re-issed. It's not cheap at $ 80...but it's worth it.
I also like John Allen's GT40 books...which are filled with color shots
and very reasonably priced since they are soft cover.
The Shelby GT40 book is also good...but not as much detail.
Good luck.

The SPF Mk1 is based on chassis 1010( so I am told)...the RCR is based on chassis 1008..(I know that for sure)

Both original shapes but very different...
