Rep Power: 7 | SPF P2125 is home, registered and on the road Well after almost 3 yrs P2125 (2'nd FE powered MK11) is home and on the road.
As a former US Navy submarine nuclear engineer and one who has restored a number of cars I decided due to lack of time to buy a SPF Cobra in 2000....4 yrs experience with the SPF Cobra gave me the trust to begin discussions with the factory (Hi-Tech) re a GT40 almost 3 yrs ago, before dealers were taking orders...Decided to deal with Olthoff racing early on and was sold due to Dennis' reputation and "can do" attitude with respect to all the "special features" I wanted least of which was the FE.
Special mention goes to one of Dennis' top wrenches Paul Whitcock who did most of the work on the car. Paul is an FE enthusiest and detail oriented fabricator who along with Dennis is responsible for the custom designed center rod shift that works flawlessly and the fact that all the early car teething problems were ID'd and corrected.
Some of the "special features" will be apparant in pics atrtached but, items like custom suitcase boxes rear and storage box fwd, clamshell heat treatment, under fender rubber lining, custom seating and console, halon fire sys install, 2 piece removable sidewall turkey pan, hidden MSD, custom bellhousing and external ZF slave install ect really spotlite Olthoff's abilities.
I am attaching general pics but, have detailed photos if anyone wants to peel into the rod shift or closer views of the engine/transaxle ( including the custom ZF cover that forum member Pedro Peguro had foundered for me) before the storage boxes and rear clam was installed.
Regards, Steve
