Great coverage! DeTomaso had to have been influenced by the GT40. I can see similarities in my '73 Pantera and the SPF cars.

Actually, the chassis and suspension design of the Mangusta is virtually identical in concept to that of the GT40. The Pantera was an attempt to create a car with the virtues of the GT40/Mangusta, but suitable for mass production, so the suspension is far more 'production car' conventional.
