Water radiator

Hello,

My water radiator is leaking and no specialists have been able to repair it. It still leaks.

Anybody knows which radiator type (I suppose this radiator is already installed in some others cars) I need to buy to replace mine ? SPF sells it but for 2000$ !!! I'm sure I can find cheaper...

Thanks,

OliveR

The SPF GT40 radiator is not used in other cars and is built specially for the GT40.
Where does it leak? If it is not in an inaccessible spot I don't understand why a qualified specialist can't repair it.

Hi Rick,

The specialist told me that the cooling fins must be replaced. Before that he tried to weld where it leaks and stick but it still leak.

So I have no choice... replacing cooling fins cost 650$ which is better than changing the radiator...

Thanks,

Hi
I am not sure about Docking - mine leaked and so did a number of others

Frank Catt on here arranged one for me about 4 years ago and it has been faultless since he fitted it

Slightly thicker than a Docking and certainly does the job

He goes under the name weldenengineer on here perhaps send him a personal message or e mail

look at Winner racing on E bay they have off the shelf and will do custom, the alloy radiator in the 5000 they made special for me to replicate the original for $250 for a 4 core x flow, I have also got 2 customers with their alloy radiators in lotus sevens, yes their Chinese but the quality is as good as youll get any where else.

a very satisfied customer

This is the reason that when I had my radiator custom made for my 40 it was made the time tested way in copper and brass.

Should it be damaged or leak it can be easily repaired by any reasonable radiator repairer.

I have 40,000 Km's on mine so far with no problems.

Dimi.
