It doesn't.
It is a hydraulic pressure switch and is installed in the line going to the rear brakes just aft of the rear cabin bulkhead.
The Ford part number is C1AZ-13480-A. Either get a gennie Ford or at least an Echlin from NAPA as there are lot of cheap, crap switches out there.

Do the SPF-ones have a tendency to fail? I need to replace mine.

Not SPF but I have had 2 fail
After that I converted to a microswitch that works of movement at the pedal
No need to bleed the brakes when the switch fails!

No but be sure to use a good quality unit
