P2334's A/C Drain

Gents,
My newly serviced A/C works like a charm here in TX. But there's a problem.

We took off the front clip last night to realign the front end and investigate the stiff throttle pedal. When I loosened and moved aside the A/C unit to access the pedal box, a good amount of water spilled out of the enclosure. I would estimate at least a pint was in there.

Does the enclosure have a drain line and where is it located?

Thanks!

I do have A/C on my DD... it's call 4x75... 4 windows down, 75mph ;)

I don't hate on people wanting A/C on their GT I just don't understand why they didn't just go for the Corvette? Then you could have the cup holders, heated seats, and backup camera too. Oh wait...

Lets see some more pictures of that thing Tim! Your winters have to be prime GT40 driving season I would assume?

So you will hate on my curb feelers as well?!?!? Geez, I really don't want to show my neckers knob now.............

Rick,
I had the enclosure loose yesterday. There is no drain on it. No hose, no bung, no anything. I can't see how condensed water escapes it. Help me.

Tim

Follow Up: Some of the recent posts were lost in the server hiccup.

I have the enclosure out, as I have seen a couple of photos of completed SPFs with a clear tubing drain line exiting the front left (standing in front) of the enclosure. Thanks to those that weighed in or provided pics.

I have looked all over the outside surface of the enclosure and, unless I am temporarily blind - there is no drain hole. So, permit me a short rant:

HOW CAN SOMEONE FORGET TO PUT IN A DRAIN?

See attached photos, where I show the bottom of the enclosure near the front left corner. In the second photo, I have outlined what looks to be a "ramp" in the bottom of the enclosure - likely one of the lowest parts of the box. I believe the drain plug/hose should be in the vertical face of that ramp.

I plan to buy a threaded fitting with a push-on hose barb. The enclosure seems to be pretty stiff stuff, so I am thinking about drilling and tapping the threads, then installing the fitting with teflon tape.

Can anyone: 1) Confirm the placement of the drain from memory or pics, and 2) Lend advice for installation of the drain.

Thanks!

You're right about no drain Terry. Mine is just to the right of the red markings on your photo. Lowest point and slightly to the right of the A/C hard lines. The case plastic is thin enough I don't know you can thread it. I would use a plastic barb fitting and epoxy it in.

Dave,
Thank you! Check this updated photo. Is this the face you are describing (outlined in red)?

Tim

Thanks, all. I have a plastic barb fitting and will drill carefully. I let my dealer know, so they can provide feedback to Hi-Tech.

Update: Drilled and used epoxy for barbed fitting. 1/4 ID - 3/8 OD clear hose will be used.
