Thank you for the kind words.
This Saturdays work;
Layed out interior rivets and drilled pilots.
Started rear bulkhead.
Finished up steering rack front cover and access panel (just have to cut cooling pipe holes).
Cut battery box hole.
Installed fuel tanks for mock up of fuel quantity sender covers in the sill top panels.

It is all pre-polished aluminum alloy that is included with the kit.

Rep Power: 6 | Re: Tornado TS40 #875 Scott you are panelling up that baby a treat. At this rate you will be ready for painting in no time. Your build so far is certainly a great advertisement for Tornado cars. Keep up the great work.

I took it easy today .... rest is good.
Finished steering rack front cover with water pipes mocked up.
Not too shabby for an old A&P, if I do say so myself

Welldone Scott...go on go on!
If not already present in the manual, u can add all those assembly pictures as a dvd for the cars sold (why not also make small videos with homemade camera?).
Pictures nice as those are always better than any draw or description

Rep Power: 6 | Re: Tornado TS40 #875 Scott, are you going to build the GT as is or put some of your own modifications to it? I find that personal mods slow down the build with most kits.

Only one deviation from TSC, I have room to install a small storage box just aft of where the dual fuel pumps will be installed, on the right side of the car. It will end up being about 9L x 7W X 5D.

What are you using to seal the panels to the chassis with. Mine was done with bathroom sealant (white!!) which is OK but can't be overpainted

The sealant used was included in the Deluxe Package.
I do not know what it is made of.

Rear bulkhead almost done. Just need to cut window hole and install riv- nuts for the GRP engine access panel.
Finished vertical sills.
Could not help myself and had to slap on the spider and front clip to have a look!

| Re: Tornado TS40 #875 Scott - So on the Tornado, do you locate the Spider and then everything else dials in off of that or?
RE: Personal Mods - No kidding... I've had my car in the shop now since the end of October and I've barely started the actual build for all the engineering changes and fabrication because I've deviated so far from the text-book build... That's okay though because I'm doing it my way.. |
