Yes, underneath all the perpsex including the door windows will be painted in what we call in the USA "Trim Black".
It is not totally flat, I would say somewhere around 25% gloss.
The interior portions that are not carpeted will be painted the same as the dash pictures below.
Cheers,

Thank you for the highly esteemed compliment.
A thousand pardons please, but alas I had to stop somewhere with the options list.
I do bow and beg your forgiveness for that most unwise choice .
"Assalamu alaikum"

Tomorrow some more pictures of 875 on the ground with the wheels installed.
Spike will be busy wet sanding.
Glad I'm not!

| Re: Tornado TS40 #875 Scott - your car is looking very very nice!!!
Might I ask what size wheels/tires you have on it in those pictures?
Are the rear flares standard or are they extended some?
Body fitment appears to be very nice! In talking with a good friend who will more than likely be the painter of my car, he suggested that he paint the body while installed on the chassis not only to ensure the perfect alignment of stripes but to minimize the opportunity to damage the paint during re-installation.. |

Spike is just finishing the wet sanding and has some sections buffed.
The car looks like it may come home less than a week from today, as painting the interior and black out items are all that's left.
Then I just have to install the windshield, dash, seats, carpets and a few odds and ends.
I will post the wheel/tire info for you tomorrow.
Funny too because I was just at Spikes!
875 has our standard rear clip, not our Gulf clip.
I agree with you on the paint. Especially when the car will be striped. Plus it saves the extra step (read labor costs!) of reassembly.
Not to mention possible damage as you say.
I'm not a painter so I listened to Spike!
Here are a few more shots, this guy is amazingly talented.
Cheers,
S

Rep Power: 2 | Re: Tornado TS40 #875 Wow, just spent the last week of lunchbreaks reading this entire thread. That is incredible progress in a short length of time, and would seem to speak volumes about the kit quality and/or your commitment to the project. I am seriously considering a Tornado kit myself now.
wrt the panelling, how much is ready cut? Did you have to template and bend the ally sheet for the arches etc. yourself or is this done as part of the kit?
Thanks
Jono

Rep Power: 12 | Re: Tornado TS40 #875 Hi Guy's
Randy, the tire/wheels are;
Front Avon CR6 ZZ 215/60/15 94V
15 X 8 or 8.5 inch (I just quickly used a tape measure because I did not want to bother Spike for too long!)
Rear Avon CR6 ZZ 245/60/15 101V
15 X 9.5 or 10 inch
Jono,
Thanks!
Andy Sheldon manufactures one very well sorted and straight forward to build replica, indeed!
The alloy panels are cut to size, but not to shape or bend. That is left to the customer. It is simple though as you said, all you have to do is make a pattern first out of stiff card, then transfer to the alloy sheet and cut & bend it.
This allows you to make mistakes for the price of the paper.
Glad to hear you are considering a TS40.
If you order a carbon fiber chassis you won't have to do any panelling!
Ron,
Thanks for the compliment!
Now here are some of the black out pictures, tomorrow some interior paint pictures.
Cheers,
Scott |

Rep Power: 12 | Re: Tornado TS40 #875 Well folks, "Spike" is pretty much done with the car. Just the installation of the sill stripes and the windshield are left.
Here are some of the latest pictures of the car unmasked showing the interior and black out treatment.
The first one is my favorite!
Cheers,
S

| Re: Tornado TS40 #875 The interior - is that done in Wrinkle Paint? Looks nice!!!
BTW - Thanks for the tire sizes.. Now I know why my rear wheel arches look larger than yours - you have a taller tire!
My rear tires are 295-50-15 on 15x10 rims as shown below with suspension set at ride height (sorry about dummy engine partially blocking the view)..

Randy,
The interior is finished in black/grey/white speckled paint.
I think the rear wheel well openings are just a different shape.
The difference between the two tires as far as height is concerned is only .050, (the BF Goodrich being taller) according to information I have on the BF Goodrich and the Avon.
Here is a shot with the clips open.
Cheers,
S
