Wow! That is very lightweight. Is that the carbon fiber or the standard variant?

Thats the standard spaceframe version in full road going trim.
Our cars are the lightest out there.
The Carbon chassis cars are much lighter.

Good result there Andy for a traditional spaceframe/fibreglass setup!
CF is good but it belongs to later era. However I can see the advantages re weight and also the appeal it has to a well documented market that must have 'bling'!
Can you disclose further specs? Would I be right in thinking iron block, alloy heads, Renault trans, and your new alloy uprights?

OK and thanks.
It has an iron block, alloy heads and Renault trans.
It also has an AC system which ads 52 lbs and the old style copper radiator which is 21 lbs heavier than the new Alloy item.
It does not have the new alloy uprights at the moment.

Its now called IVA.
No that is not the weight they should put on the paperwork.
That weight is the gross weight not the design weight.

Being a weight fetishist (!) with our cars, what is not included in the design weight? Apart from all liquids, I cannot see what else could be missed off. If you know, do please tell.
In my car, fuel weighs in at 45 kg, oils are about 8 kg, and water about 20kg (never measured it but I know it is a lot!). Brake, clutch fluids and washer water may creep close to another 1kg. But that is another 74 kg without too much effort. Equivalent to the wife sitting in the passsnger seat (after she has binged out on an Indian take away meal)!!!!!!

The design weight is the total weight that the vehicle was designed not to exceed.
This would include an amount for driver and passenger and also luggage.
Our weights in post 1 include all fuel, oils, water and all other fluids.
As you say in a sportscar weight is everything.
The lighter the car the quicker it accelerates and brakes and the better it corners.
The projected weight for the Carbon car is 800 Kgs.
