John Place GT40 rebuild


The GT40 is on the road after extensive rebuild.
Will be at Athens this Saturday, rain willing.

Some items are;
Dart aluminum engine block with SCAT ultralight crankshaft,
SCAT conn rods, H-beam,
J&E pistons AFR aluminum heads, aluminum flywheel and fuel injected.
Ceramic header coating.
New stub axles and drive flanges.
New drive shafts and CV joints.
Improved A/C and cooling.
Complete heat shielding of cockpit, Dynamat,
caulking all joints and double
plexiglass rear window.

Engine and chassis dyno run and tuned.
Runs 550 H.P and 547 lbs-ft at 3,000 rpm.

Hi there, fab looking motor. One thing I've always been curious about - how do these stroked smallblocks sound compared with a big block 427?

Hard to tell unless they were both together. I would think not much difference, although small block done this method is fairly high revving.
