Jaguar XJ13 @ Goodwood

Now I'm on a roll posting piccies, here's a few taken back in April whilst I was at a Sprint event at Goodwood. Not a factory build as I understand it, but made WITH full factory support and technical access - very nice too.

Ron - you've got a V12 knocking about in your garage have'nt you? - :D

Nice. Very nice.

I think the closest I've ever come to being the victim of an online lynching was when I once suggested here that a BMW V12 engine would be a good choice for an XJ13 replica.

Sorry -

I did'nt get any real close-ups of the engine, but I do remember thinking that the motor had been made/presented to 'look' old or period, but the electronic fuel injection made me think it was a recent engine. I'm not familiar with the Jaguar motor range.

Re the 'historic' status, isn't this probably just based on the age of the registration? - without seing a V5 I guess we do not know how it's been listed. There was an info sheet there and I'm suprised that I did'nt photograph it as I would normally have...

so to both queries, sorry - I don't know.

BUT i'll put money on another forum member knowing the answer(s)... there isn't much that the 'forum collective' cannot explain...:)

addendum - Actually I know of at least 2 cars that have 'historic' Road Fund Free status based purely on their registration documents being for a period vehicle of the same manufacturer / door configuration....;) ;) Not quite as easy these days I suspect...

Paul, DVLA shows it as first registered in 1965, Jaguar, Green, 5350 cc so that's a clever stunt for the zero road tax!

Beautiful car - thanks for the pictures....:)
