| Re: Stoneleigh Kit Car Show UK GT40 pictures Yeah, that was Andy Sheldons I think. Had a quick look at the car but never got to talk to Andy on the day. What is it about you Tornado representatives and yellow cars ? I approve by the way.
Some more pics from the day. Some cars that sparked my interest for very different reasons.

| Re: Stoneleigh Kit Car Show UK GT40 pictures I love the turbo 2 too! I have one. So does Mike Trusty from Arkansas and Charlie Smith my friend next to me here in Arkansas he has a turbo 1 (Garrett museum car) and turbo 2. Mine is not the Maxi 5 like this one but still a killer at 24 lbs of boost.

Yes it was one of my personal cars.
Spec is 347 stroker, 1 3/4" full cross over in ceramic chrome, 5 speed, 4 pots with twin servos, 17" wheels in 8s and 10s, twin pumps and filters, full leather and Air con.
Also has the new anti roll bar option. The car was finished just last Thursday
I tried to upload a few pictures but seem to be having problems. I will try again later.
Thanks
Andy |

I don't know what time you took this photo - I guess it was early in the morning from the number of other show cars there.
Remember, members often have considerable distances to travel - Carlisle, Middlesborough - but the stand was certainly manned shortly after 0930 when the show opened and eventually 21 cars attended.
The stand was packed, both with cars and people.
When we weren't in the AGM, I spent most of the day on the stand, but unfortunately didn't see you.

| Re: Stoneleigh Kit Car Show UK GT40 pictures I went on the Sunday and I have to say that it was amazing to see so many GT40s in one place. The cars looked fantastic, with many varied colour schemes. It certainly provided food for thought for someone about to undertake a build of one of these things.
My thanks to everyone who was there. |

| Re: Stoneleigh Kit Car Show UK GT40 pictures Andy,
It unfortunately comes down to time and cost. It's a good 6+ hours (minimum, 10 last year!) round journey for me, not to mention the £80+ fuel costs. So to attend both days would mean this again, or staying overnight in a hotel/motel somewhere (as wll as security issues) - more £££, as 1) not a lot of room for all the gear needed to camp comfortably 2) the other half wouldn't fancy that anyway. So basically 1 day is all I can afford (time & cost) to attend. If the show was moved 100 miles further South I would probably consider attending both days, but then a lot of other people probably wouldn't.

| Re: Stoneleigh Kit Car Show UK GT40 pictures Curious, were the GT40's predominately one manufacturer or were there several, how many? Don't recall that I've seen that many in one gathering off the track before, very nice.

| Re: Stoneleigh Kit Car Show UK GT40 pictures Tim,
I am not 100% sure of all 21 that were there, but from the ones I do know the majority were GTD's, with a couple of Tornados, a Dax, my KVA plus 1 or 2 hybrids.
It also just happened that the 4 of us who did convoy together up the M40 were 1 of each make.
