Road America in 1959

Here's an old film of the 1959 June Sprints at Road America. Those of you who have raced here will recognize every corner, It's also interesting to note what no longer exists (the old "pagoda" race tower, the gravel quarries that used to be between the carrousel and the kink, the "runoff to Canada" that gave Canada corner its name, etc.) It's totally corny and funny at times, and there are a couple minutes of "advertising" by the sponsor, but it's a short look at the way things were in that bygone era when we yanks came to appreciate those wonderful "foreign cars".
