A flavour of Le Mans Classic 2016

A few general pics to give a general flavour of the 2016 Le Mans Classic. I know everyone likes a few pics. Enthusiasts Club member and GT40 fan and racer Claude Nahum was kind enough to pose next to his Mk2 which was the car which was the third place car in 1966. He keeps the car in original spec. He also has a Mk1 in Strathaven livery and races a Lola T70 with friend Bernard Thuner. A few pics of the Enthusiasts Club dinner at the Hotel de France. Lots of GT40s parked in the square outside and Nick Brough and friend looking happy before they went back and found someone had stolen their tent pegs! Also an interesting talk by Maitland Cooke who worked for Ford and John Wyer back in the day. The room we were in was the one that John Wyer used as his office and to plan his Le Mans strategy.
Cheers
Mike

Looks to be a number of Mk1 replicas fitted with rear scoops on them... Must be a popular modification there!
Thanks for taking and posting the pictures for us!!!

Having attended the weekend, I would like to thank the organisers, but a give special thanks to these two (Nick Brough & Nigel Lang), who gave me and my passenger a lift back to the Ferry at Caen, after we’d deemed that the transmission in my ’40 wasn’t going to get us home.

Nick had originally driven down from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
><st1:City w:st=
</st1:City>Warrington in his TVR, but this split a coolant hose around <st1:City w:st="on">Portsmouth</st1:City>, so Nigel was sent back to <st1:place w:st="on">Devon</st1:place> to borrow his wife’s Golf for the event, allowing them to offer us the 2 spare seats<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>
Fortunately the car’s now home (950mile round trip to collect it!) and the problem’s being investigated<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Regards,<o:p></o:p>
Andy <o:p></o:p>

Thanks Andy, but in reality I was just a passenger like you. The real heroes where Nigel his wife Lynne for giving up her car for a few days, (we were destined to be there ) and their daughter for loaning Lynne her car so she could get about, as she won’t drive Nigel’s Lotus :)

Glad you recovered the car OK

Sorry to hear of the problems but thankfully everyone made it home safe and the pics were really lovely to view. A very nice assortment of pictures and I especially liked the photo of one of my all time favorite designs.....the Ferrari 312 P. Very rare and what a sound the car makes at full throttle!
