F5000 and Can Am down under

We have just experianced the Best Classic race meeting in the world at the brand new HAMPTON DOWNS circuit just south of Auckland. There were 47 F5000 cars entered along with 12 Can Am cars including a March 717, Mclaren M1 a`s and b`plus a Lola T70.
To stand at the pit exit while these cars trundle past was petrol head heaven, to be at the end of the main straight hearing these cars at full noise was Nirvana. There were over 110 overseas entries which is no mean feat considering how far away New Zealand is. There were also some 200 Formula Junior, Tasman, Super historic and classic Formula Fords running along with all manner of Saloon and sports cars dating back to the 50`s, I think over 400 competitors. Even Old Yella was there.

I couldn't agree with you more Russell a big thumbs up for the organizers:thumbsup: I really think a lot of people didn't understand what they were experiancing, Has anyone else seen 47 Formula 5000 cars at one meeting? It would be good to know. They are claiming it to be the biggest ever.
Either way the weekend was nothing short of Briliant

Woody,
I was at the Labatt's Blue 5000 in 1975. The cars are loud. That's about all I remember from indulging in too many Blue's from the night before.
