Christmas and New Year present to myself

Well, apart from Brian Kissel knowing, I,ve kept this quiet, but can now announce that I have completed my dream trio of cars to race.

I have purchased a Marauder T70 Mk3b replica in a complete but poor, total strip and rebuild state, but with title/registration. This is going to be my last hurrar in car racing as it is getting so disproportionally expensive, but am going to go flat out on it and try to have it road/track worthy by the end of this coming season .... famous last words .... !!!!

Chevrolet 350 and ZF 5DS 25-2 gearbox should make for far cheaper running than the Porsche !

Although I shall continue to race the 917 and 40, I shall not have the Lola in Gulf livery !!!

Now where is that generous bank manager ............

Excellent Graham! That would have been my choice if I was still active and there are quite a few out there to compete with in Europe as well - it will be fun and relatively inexpensive too..So glad you didn't acquire a coupe, too many out there and pretty uninspiring. The T70 IIIB most probably represents a line of development that Broadley might have taken with the GT40.

Re: Colour, they look very good in both red and BRG.. heck, they look good in any colour

Ken and Keith,

probably going to be a darkish blue with white stripe, but maybe white with a blue and red stripe, but then again red with a white stripe, or possibly yellow, even a lighter green .......... oh heck, too soon to decide. Have got to rebuild it yet.

Ken, after you turned my offer down for the 40, I decide to push the boat out for this Lola.

I'm glad you did! Got a better offer... I have loved T70s since Denny Hulme crashed one in front of me at Coram a long time ago. Looking forward to seeing yours in the flesh..
