The flag is 'facing' the wrong way. As you look at the right side sleeve from the right side of the jacket, the stars should be in the upper right corner...or 'facing front', if you will.

IOW, that particular flag patch belongs on the left sleeve.

If they were U.S. made, one would think the manufacturer would have known which way to sew on the flag.

Actually using a flag with a reversed (stars in the upper right) is a relatively new phenomenon. I have a very large collection of vintage race apparel including dozens of these jackets all have this flag. The reverse flag patch was started in the last 15 years during our conflict in Afghanistan and Iraq.
