Rep Power: 26 | Worldwide PARTY!!!!!! What do you guys think about a common date for a World wide GT40 PARTY.
If we can pick a date then I will host again for northern Calif. I was thinking about sometime in early October or late September. Now lets see isn't that spring in the southern hemisphere. England isn't REALLY raining yet....right?
Just might work. It would really be cool to see all the posts come in from all over the world on Monday.
I can't help myself I love this kind of stuff!!! Beer, burgers, Buddies, and GT40's. |

sounds great
How about a bunch of UK guys coming over for a drive across America for you party?
I would think it would be bossible to load 2 cars per container and ship across for about $1000 per container each way.
We could then get a big number at your "Thrash"
cheers
ian

How about this???
Save up. Ship car to UK, come down and drive to Classic Le Mans in July 2008, it will only be 9 months later and we can all truly party ( ) since it will be 40 years since P1075 first won
...and I might have actually finished my car by then

Rep Power: 26 | Re: Worldwide PARTY!!!!!! Brent, I really wish I could bring Ole Betty over. But alas funding isn't there for that. On the other hand ANYONE who shows up for my annual GT40 party with a GT40 is welcome. There has been some discussion about a meeting somewhere in central Calif but I think we will wait until a few of those RCR's are done down in LA. Then I'm thinking about a meet in Paso Robles. 2008?
So still no ideas about a simultaneous party on 3 or 4 continents? Come-on boys we can do it. Just think of the pictures! |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: Worldwide PARTY!!!!!! Howard - that's a great idea ! Given a bit of notice, I am sure that we can russle up a dozen or so cars here in Sydney, and similar numbers in at least Victoria & Queensland. A single party in Oz might be a big ask (750kms between capital cities), so one in each major city should be practical.
Let us know how things go regarding a date & we'll start the ball rolling.
Thanks & Kind Regards,
Peter D.
