Wings & Wheels 2013 Dunsfold

Another good Wings & Wheels, well on the Sunday afternoon.
Bit damp at other times so include some shots from the Press Day.
That's what they mean about Wings & Wheels!

Well done John Christian for organising the GT40 side of things here.

Peter Teichman flew in his Hurricane Mk2B (BTW he also owns 1001!)

Paul, appreciate you posting the pics. The 747 really shows just how small the GT 40 is! Maybe its the angle of the photo but the nose wheel looks taller then the car.

I went to this event a few years ago--it was excellent.

Notice anything about the 747? It is fitted with an experimental engine configuration. Instead of four engines on four pylons, two engines are paired up on each inner pylon, and (fuel tanks?) reside on the outer pylons. I've never seen another one like it. I have a feeling this airplane doesn't fly, so what is it doing just sitting there, year after year?

Hi Mike,
It was flown to Dunsfold (part of which is the " UK Top Gear Track") as a resting place as I believe once landed, the runway was too short for it to take off again!
The double engines are a mock up. This was the aircraft used in 007 Casino Royale. It was the Skyfleet S570 prototype airplane.
