The Boston Cup

I don't know if this counts as a GT40 Event, but there will be a GT40 (1030) at The Boston Cup, a classic car show, on Sunday, September 22nd on the Boston Common starting at 9am. The awards ceremony starts at 2pm.

It's free for the public to view the cars, but you can buy an "Inner Circle" ticket to get in closer to cars.

If you want to see some of the cars that will be on display, visit their Facebook page.

Today's Boston Globe has an article about The Boston Cup. It mentions that Factory Five will have a GTM Supercar kit car on display (the event has a Massachusetts theme, so there will be a bunch of cars built in Massachusetts).

But the real stars of the show will be the Massachusetts-made vehicles. The collection will feature classics like the 1967 Pontiac GTO, made in Framingham, and a 1930 Packard, which has a body built by Waterhouse of Webster. There are also other, more obscure, cars such as the 1903 Grout, built in Orange, and a 1913 Metz Boattail Roadster, which originated in Waltham. Perhaps the vehicle with the deepest Massachusetts roots is the Hand Pump Wagon, which was built in Paul Revere’s Boston foundry in 1792.
