    Simeone GT40

My buddy built the engine in the GT40 that is in the Simeone museum. We are discussing building a copy of that car. What is the general opinion of whether one should go EFI or Carbed? Transmission would be a built G50. Motor will cost me almost as much as the RCR kit.

    Racing Setup - Hooptie 500

Ok, let's review the thread. I asked is it possible to go 200 on a road track. Told I was an idiot, mentioned I had in another one of my cars, told I am pretentious and a liar, had my personal information posted and a new company name WITHOUT me posting it first, then have to defend said...

Re: Racing Setup? Unfortunately I can't answer some of your questions right now due to a number of planned announcements, however, here are a few that I can. From a SCCA/NASA perspective the fasting growing segment of auto racing is non formal licensed long form endurance races. You can...

Re: Racing Setup? Ron-- Have you been in a lemons race? I would say half are experienced people and half just showed up to be in a race. I would also say that there is a lot of potential opportunity to offer a better product to the half that have more experience.

Re: Racing Setup? Understand. The purpose of the thread was, what would it take to get 200 on a road course, that's it.

Re: Racing Setup? Well if you are interested in racing let me know. We have quite the line up of drivers that will be in each race. View it as those that have graduated from Lemons but don't really care for SCCA. We have already secured television and internet rights for our series, so it...

Re: Racing Setup? I am sorry, did I say I drove a honda that needed nos? BTW, our newly patented race computers will be available for sale soon if you would like to buy one. Far more accurate then some of the offerings in the market right now.

Re: Racing Setup? I used to live in VA and no longer do. If you look at my posts, I never once said that I hit 200 in VIR. I ASKED what it would take for a gt40 to do it, which has clearly been said not possible.

Re: Racing Setup? Sorry, I was travelling and not able to respond. I am not part of Hooptie 500, I am the owner of Hooptie 500. It is a new race series that sits above lemons and below pro series. You will be seeing a number of major pieces of press coverage, including the level of...

    Racing Setup - Hooptie 500

Re: Racing Setup? If I recall, it is something like 10x hp required to go from 100-200 then from 0-100. What is a more reasonable top speed or avg lap speed that some have seen at the bigger named tracks? I mean my 2.9l e30 hits 130 on any road track that has a 2/3 of a mile straightaway.

    Racing Setup - Hooptie 500

Re: Racing Setup? Ok, so back to my first question, it does not seem that it is possible to get 190-210 as a top speed during a lap. What is a reasonable top end speed on a track for the GT40? I didn't mean RCR the GT40 guys, but Richard Childress Racing (RCR).

    Racing Setup - Hooptie 500

Re: Racing Setup? Mike-- I race in a number of series and own a series that is launching in 2014. Clearly I made a mistake asking questions here, and will avoid doing so. I will just ask my friends over at RCR the right setup. I know DaveM may think they are boy racers, but I am pretty sure...
