Photos under front cover on a RCR 917

Thanks Martin, those pictures really help. What length flexible brake line is used on the front? It looks like about 18 inches.

Photos under front cover on a RCR 917

Thanks Fran. Do you have a photo of the best location for the front brake lines to go through the chassis? Or suggested location?

Photos under front cover on a RCR 917

Does anyone have some photos of the location of the brake/clutch reservoir on the RCR 917. I'm assuming that they are placed under the front cover. There isn't a lot of room there, so I don't want to mess up the placement of them.

    Getting started on a 917K

Regarding the posts on how "replica" does a replica need to be, I agree that it just depends on the pocket-book. For me, the mono chassis and a modern air-cooled Porsche engine is about right. For somenoe to go truly original in a replica would be on the extreme end. The original car really...

    Getting started on a 917K

I did actually look into the original 180 degree V12 engine. I found some drawings on-line and in some of the books on the original car. The engine is impressive, and would be an absolute treat to have. I did quickly look into the engines fashioned from multiple blocks - and trust me their are...

    Getting started on a 917K

I just visited Fran at RCR, and put a deposit down on a 917K. The factory is a lot of fun and it is really impressive to see all the cars, chassis, body parts, etc. The day I was there a GT40 was being shipped out. I'll be posting a lot on the progress, and building a website like I did for...

ZF Transaxle source in the US (& apologies as a newbie)

I have wanted to build a GT40 kitcar for quite a while and am now just able to do so financially, so its a great joy for me to be able to join the GT40 community. As I've spec'ed out my car, I'm having trouble finding good sources for the ZF transaxle. I'm in the US (midwest). I'm also a bit...
