    Toms RCR 40 Trackracer

Thats an excellant spreadsheet, Tom. I've taken a slightly different approach, by mounting the swaybar on top of the tub. I had the open of then linking to the lower arm, but it was a lot easier to link to the top arm. I had quite a few concerns about doing this but it seems to have worked...

    Volume flow of oil pump

I don't have any data for you, but have used a earls EAR-41910ERL in the RCR-40, which keeps oil temp under control very well. Use -10AN, minimum hoses, good quality fittings. On the cobra I used a smaller 3" high cooler, with -10 hoses which supported 500hp easily and when fitted gave me a...

Fran, Well done mate. You and the guys at RCR have put together a quality result. The best looking retro rod I've seen.

    John's Aussie RCR-40 Build

I thought I better post an update to the build site. I haven't been very good at keeping it uptodate. Quite a bit has happened over the last few months and we did manage to get the car finished enough to race at the Aussie Cobra Nationals. Its really not very finished (no headlights yet), but...

    Keith's RCR GT40 Mk I Build

Guys, I did manage to get my RCR GT40 out on the track a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't had the time to fit the sway bars yet, but was surprised with how neutral the car was. In fact it had a touch of oversteer, which was quite unexpected. I've only got a stock motor in the car at the...

    Run-n-Gun pics.....

Everyone, here are my first impressions with the SLC. You will have to keep in mind that this is the first time that I have driven this car, first time I've driven at that track and the first time I've driven a left hand drive car. I'm not a professional driver, just someone who likes...

Fuel tank foam movement fouling senders

Yes John, I've had the same problem in my cobra which is raced regularly. I found the foam would foul the gauge, sometimes jamming it. I did two things which helped a lot without major modifications: - I made a aluminium shield mounted to the sender - Got some long pliers and pinched away...

    Toms RCR 40 Trackracer

Tom, did you make the rear brake ducts or buy them? I've had a bit a look around, but haven't found a source for them. I've noticed a couple of builds have used similar ducting.

    Toms RCR 40 Trackracer

Hi Tom, Guards are looking good. The link to your brake ducting photos has been lost, could you see if you could fix up pls or post again.

    Toms RCR 40 Trackracer

Hi Tom, Your engine ducting looks really good. I think use that idea myself if you don't mind. Are you planning on using an oil cooler near the fresh air from this duct? Are you going to use the rear brake ducting as well?

    John's Aussie RCR-40 Build

All, Thanks for the positive comments guys. Got a short timeline for this build as its planned to have the 40 finished and racing by Oct for the Aussie Cobra Nationals. Tom, I'm pleased with how the engine has come up. Its torque curve seems pretty broad. The dyno results were with 750 carb...

    John's Aussie RCR-40 Build

The RCR-40 MK1 arrived in Australia a few weeks ago. Working on it in my spare time with the help of my brother Craig. The body, chassis & parts look absolutely fantastic. It will be road registered in QLD initally, but then used as a track car. Specs: Kit: RCR-40 MK1 Deluxe Plus kit...

Thanks Rob, I have a few ideas on the mounting, just want to compare notes. Great to see the video of your 40 on the track. John W.
