    IVA towing device

Nick, Where did you find this requirement? Section number? I have just gone through the IVA Manual for Vehicle Category M1, Revision 10, 03 Oct.'16. Did a word search for towing. Plenty of stuff for ball hitches on the back, if fitted, but nothing for the front. I don't have anything on my...

    Electric Water Pump question

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]--> Dave, It is with some relief that I came across your thread today as I have been trying to get my head around an over-cooling phenomenon. I just got my build on the road in...

    Duncans GT-Forte Scratch Build

Quality work Duncan. Congratulations. You mention powder or paint for panel finishing but I would add anodising to the list of possibles. Can be clear or a colour and provides a scratch resistant surface.

    Wavetrac diff

Advice and comments please. Does anyone have experience of running a Wavetrac in a Porsche transaxle flipped and reversed for mid-engined format? Anything special to note? Thanks John McL.

Chassis panel fit, stupid question 1 of many.....

Paul, Another thing. You asked about grinding flat the welds on internal corners. I know SGT welds are done properly with correct joint preparation for full penetration. So the blob on the top does not contribute to weld integrity. If you look at flat joints elsewhere on the chassis you...

Chassis panel fit, stupid question 1 of many.....

Hi Paul, I'm not far from you and building a non-40 but have the same panel fitting issues. I suggest you get a proper sheet metal scribe instead of the knife blade, you will find it much easier to use. Also, I bought a power file. One of the most useful tools I ever bought. Clamp the...

    Fitting fans to radiator

Trevor, You might consider welding only the four brackets to the rad then fixing the shroud and the fans using the same screws. That way, it is easier to clean out bugs and stuff and also do trials with and without the shroud. Superb build. John McL.

    Movable pedal box?

Hi Tim, Check out the Marcos 2-seat coupe. Always had adjustable pedals. Suspended, not floor mounted but you can mount the Tiltons that way.. Pedal box was mounted on a frame running on two longitudinal bars. A long captive nut on the frame. A screw thread through the nut connected to a...

    Plating suspension parts....

Generally, it is bad practice to use any kind of covering that hides the surface and welds of safety critical parts like suspension components. Search on Keyphos for useful info. Look here http://www.sandwell-uk.com for stuff on anti-corrosion coating for race/road suspension...
