Wow the R5T2 was the first "fast" car I ever drove. A black RHD one on a C plate in the UK (registered in 1987 I think).
I've hankered after one ever since but recently bought an Aston so that's ruined any hope of buying anything else for a long while!
I thought for a dealer £30k was probably about right, given they have to factor in giving the customer a "discount" off the screen price?
Sovereign seem to have a fair few GT40 replicas for sale in autotrader.
Yes that is probably an issue for resale values - at least with std manufacturer cars the price they are new is "all in" and therefore you have a suitable benchmark. Factor in that "cars depreciate" and you have another problem.
Finally another problem might be that you buy one second hand...
I'd give them £25k-ish for it but if they're asking £35k on Autotrader I think I'd not get very far. Be interested to see what it sells for eventually.
Hi just throwing my hat back in the ring. Still looking - gutted I missed the £20k yellow car posted mid-May - that's the sort of car I'm looking for.
Shame the Gulf coloured one in SA is too far over my budget as that's a gorgeous looking example.
Anyhow - I'll keep checking the board and...
Very true
Had a look at both of them but neither really strikes me as "the car for me". Probably because I'd want to change the wheels and get the Gulfed up, which means they don't currently have the look. Very frustrating!
Cheers guys - seen that one but presumed that getting the price down to under £20 on that one would be a long shot.
Plus wasn't entirely sure what make it was!
Will have a look for the KVA for sale at £17k (my kinda price!)
Probably never going to happen but if anyone hears of one I'd be interested.
I'd need to offload my Lotus 340r first, but summer's coming and it shouldn't be too tricky.
Can email me - [email protected]
Allo Brett! I recognised your name on a different thread. Still got lots of GT pieces then?
I'm on the lookout for a fully built one but the sub £20k cars seem to have all but vanished these days, guess it's the popularity of the new Ford GT that's done it.
Still I've now got a Lotus 340r so...
