    Flat Plane Crank LS1

I don't compute? What do you mean by another engine? What's up with the flat crank? Will that be on hold ? If you need an adapter for the Porsche style bell housing why can't you get the Kennedy Engineering system? You're putting me in a tail spin here.:laugh::laugh:

Good Luck with your race! Looked into how to get the sound you want and saw this thread. exhaust note - HybridZ "To replicate the Ferrari exhaust note exactly will take 1) Single plane crank with shorty equal length headers and a short overall length exhaust system, (shorter length is...

Troy have you talked with the ATI folks? I think that the size of the damper has more to do with the weight of your reciprocating assembly, especially the weight of the crankshaft, and the stiffness of the assembly. The damper acts as a shock absorber but for a vibration in a circular pattern...

Granted the twin overhead cam and variable valve timing is awesome on that Coyote, but you still would have a higher rod ratio of 1.62:1 Coyote and 2.05 SBC 618. This may yield higher piston accelerations and piston sidewall forces. Don't know actually how much until you put it into a program...

This is going off topic but the gist of my post was that and SBC maintenance cost is 10% of an exotic like F and L cars...that's all. And, no matter how far down the results list I go, I still find that the F and L cars maintenance costs are still way over what an SBC is. I looked on Yahoo and...

 You got that right! Yeah F and L cars may sound exotic, good power, etc....but go get an oil change, spark plugs and clutch? A typical oil change on a Ferrari F430 will run you $500, and about $800 for a Ferrari F360 Modena, or $1100 for a Ferrari F355. Spark...
