Hi Guys I can identify the lightly stamped serial number on my 302 (1980) as described above, but without the full 17 digit VIN, is there any way of finding out more about the original vehicle from the 8 digit number.

I saw this car race at Silverstone during the 2007 British Grand Prix weekend. I was working as a helicopter marshal for the VIP's in the inner-track and managed to get some pictures of this car and one other GT40 from the pitlane. I will post them as soon as I get a chance.

Lukas Thanks for the advise. Unfortunately I have already bought new pistons, conrods etc.. and I've just had the crank machined. So it looks like there is no turning back on the engine front. I have started work on my new flywheel and I will shortly be passing the drawings on to the engine...
