F1 is boring me to death!!!!

The well-funded designers and engineers are too good to try and successfully hold them back with one common rules package. I think they need to start adding weight to successful cars until they fall back, then remove some, etc. It's the only way to prevent a string of crushing performances by...

    Walker Racing

Just read in Autoweek that Derrick Walker of CART/IRL, etc. fame was "getting a contract to build road-going GT40 replicars at his race shop" in addition to his various open-wheel race programs. Interesting.

    Virtual GT40

Hehe. Yep, you can turn right, though the out-of-the box game only comes with the Glen Short Course and Sears/Infineon, for obvious reasons. The above picture is from Sebring, which is availble (along with a lot of other road courses) for free download.

    Virtual GT40

Hi folks, Not quite sure if anyone here will be interested, but several talented people have been busy creating "mods" for the current NASCAR 2003 Season PC simulation. Of particular interest is the one where you can drive this: If you're interested, purchase Nascar 2003 Season from...

    Car Guys? , Buyers Regret

It's a tube frame racecar for the street for heavens sake. What's the guy comparing it to, a C5? An IROC-Z? Not only is it what you want Victor, it'll be exactly the way you want it

    Suspension setup

[ QUOTE ] I found that toe out increased with suspension compression to a point where there was 0.1 deg toe out. I lowered the front of the lower trailing arm slightly until the roll steer was minimised. I tried again and was pleased to find that the pendulum effect was gone. [/ QUOTE ]...

    Plastic media blasting

Not GT40-specific, but.... ...does anybody have a source in the northeast? I need to get the old primer, paint and body filler off some old fiberglass racecar bodywork & would like to explore this option. I need it to be driving distance from the Danbury, CT area. Thanks, Geoff

A fellow GT40 admirer spotted a car in Island Park, NY last Sunday, 7/20. Gulf colors, no roundels. Anybody you gents know?

    Stripes

Chris, I have a close friend with a body shop, and he does quite a bit of paint work for the vintage & SCCA crowd that runs at Lime Rock and elsewhere in the NE. He was crewing trans-am in the 60s and 70s and has been racing GT-1 for 25 years so he's seen a few old race cars. The nose of...

Racing the GT40 - why not?

That's great. I understand that SP is very popular on the left coast, so you must have plenty of cars to race. Here in the east we dont see many SP entries, and when we do its usually one of those mini-stock car things and they get grouped with small bore & spec racer.

    Be Carefull

Stupid me, I read "Nuremburg Ring" too quickly and didn't realize it was the Nurburgring. While I stand by my comments on the responsibility of clubs to manage talent & experience levels, that track is something else entirely. Anyone who has driven the track for real or simmed it in 'Grand...

    Be Carefull

That's a shame. It can happen to even experienced folk as well, however. Look what happened to poor Bob Akin at Road Atlanta. Club organizers need to do a better job of measuring up talent/experience levels and helping folks get up to speed. I believe they can do this without hurting...
