GT40 Restoration - Loads of Pix

Kind of bugs me that they put a disclaimer alienating the replica world. "Due to time and material constraints, we are not available to supply parts & services to other shops for restoration, or for replica construction." That's OK, though. We have J6 to show off. (It's my...

    Lambo vs. Ford GT

I just received the new Autoweek mag and the cover had the new "Baby Lambo" Galardo on the cover. AWD, V10, 500bhp, 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and 192mph and all for $165K. I've been on the fence regarding the new Ford GT since the news came out. Why would Ford build their version of a supercar...

    Wheel Nut vs. Wing Nut

Thanks!! That's what I've been looking for. Hopefully, the threads are the same. I'm not sure what the thread's are for a GT40 or Cobra. But, those are the styles I need. I only want to use them for open track events. Mark

    Wheel Nut vs. Wing Nut

I've searched but maybe I'm using the wrong terminalogy. Specifically, instead of using the correct wingnut, I've seen a blue MkIV 427 Cobra (had a 351 Yates motor) with a huge center lock nut holding with wheels on instead of the customary wingnut. Anyone know where one might be able to...

    P4 in Red

What a beautiful car. The MkIV and P4 are simply timeless in their respective looks. Can't wait to see one in person. Mark

VIN Plates, Patches & S/W Centers

Ben, Just received the plates. Wow. For those of you who own real GT40's you're very lucky to have the real VIN plates with the real numbers. Lucky guy's, indeed (and gal's too ). However, for those of us who have replica's, if you don't have the VIN plates that Ben made, you're missing...

    The Bumper

All of the prototypes were off the scale and when I saw the Ford promotional material for the actual production model, I thought I saw....a bumper. A rear bumper. on...the back of....a...GT40. So, work has now begun to incorporate an '87 Ford Ranger rear bumper to the back of my prototype...

    Spot lights

I used the lights from Cobra Restorer's. Their part number is CP1435. I saw the same light on the GT40 MK1 that was up for auction at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in 2002. The description is Rondelle "Night Racing" in the Light Catagory. www.cobrarestorers.com I'm still interested in a...

    Ford's new Saleen S7 vs. RF / CAV/ERA GT40

Re: Ford\'s new Saleen S7 vs. RF / CAV/ERA GT40 Gordon, Yes, I was. The last body in white from Bud Moore. Great car. I also owned 6S316, a '66 GT-350. I currently have a 1992 Phillips 66, Cale Yarborough Motorsports, Winston Cup Thunderbird and an ERA 427. Your name sounds awful...

    Ford's new Saleen S7 vs. RF / CAV/ERA GT40

Re: Ford\'s new Saleen S7 vs. RF / CAV/ERA GT40 You guys just crack me up. There was no harm taken. I just wanted to know if there was something I was missing because I do have to tell you, my 40 is just awesome. Everything is just, well, perfect. The body fit, the finish, everything...

    Ford's new Saleen S7 vs. RF / CAV/ERA GT40

Re: Ford\'s new Saleen S7 vs. RF / CAV/ERA GT40 I noticed you didn't mention the ERA cars in your comparison. Is there a reason? Just curious because I have one. Give it to me straight....thanks. I love this forum.....

I never trusted those rear clip side clasps !

Thanks for the info. Should have looked up the mirrors in search. Rookie, that's me. As soon as I figure out how to take digital photos and get them on the site, I'll post some pics. The 40 has been a challenge but the end result will be worth it.

    I want a GT 40 project

I forgot to mention, I have the wiring harness ready to install. I'm still working on it and I should have it done in a few months, but don't we all say that?

    I want a GT 40 project

I have an ERA Mk1 that's 90% complete. Needs an engine and wiring and you're done. It's RHD, Black with silver stripes. I have ton's of extra's. I'm in San Jose, CA. Try reaching me at [email protected] for more info. Had reconstructive back surgery in October and moving very slow...

    17 Inch BRM copys

    Valve Covers

Fred/GT40: Thank you for your response. I'm trying to keep the car as original as I can so the original covers are somewhat of a must. Sounds like you have a set of Gurney/Weslake heads now. I had a set on a '66 GT-350 and man, do they flow. They look cool, too. Congrats. Mark Clapp: $1500...

I never trusted those rear clip side clasps !

I don't mean to get off the subject, but what kind of rear view mirros are those? Trick indeed. And as for the '68 Shelby hood pins setup, well done. I'm a stickler for originality but those things are just plan cool and will make their way onto my car. Thanks.
