given the capacity of 400,000 transmissions per year (china news online) I think they would be capable of most things...though whether they would take a tiny bunch of eccentric enthusiasts such as us seriously is another thing. Still would be interesting to see what they can do.

I forgot to mention that the UN-5 is available NEW in australia for $1600AUS....about $900US and 600UKP which makes it seem good value for money...apart from the final drive. I know that different gear sets are available from Albins in Wendouree (again in $aus)

I did see that post and I guess that prompted this query, as the boxster transmission is considerably cheaper than the 996 from what I have been quoted. The transmission on the ultima stand did not seem to match the ebay pic or other pics I have of the boxster transmission...interesting no?

In the ever growing hope that such things do exist..has anyone explored the possibility of the New Renault Traffic turbo diesel 6spd transaxle? Also the UN-5 transaxle from the master van is being used in open classoff road buggies in australia in preference to porsche and VW. It uses a 9.5"...

I believe that this is an early lotus transaxle from the europa. Its modern equivalent is the NG-3 from a fuego. Neither is well regarded by my local french car wrecker, so I'd say they are not suitable.

does anyone have any experience with these items? I would like to know if they are invertable and torque ratings. My need is a little different as I would like to adapt a Nissan VQ30DET engine for an ultima type car. G50's are just too expensive and the renault seems a little unpredictable...
