Has anyone compaired the shift quality of the ZF vs the Audi transmission?

Has anyone tried swaping first gears on the 01E. I noticed in the specs that there are some 01E that come with a 3.50 first. It would be nice to use that in place of the 3.88 giving a very linear drop across all gear shifts. What are the thoughts of those that have been inside of these transaxles?

rear vents on original GT\'s Having a look around at original GT's I have seen some vents on the rear that I have not noticed before. Can anyone point out what they are for? Releiving pressure from the rear clam?

Looking through the RF build manual I recently recieved (Cheers Rick and Carol) I see a picture of the dash board showing the Speedo direclty in front of the driver and Tacho off to the left(right hand drive). My question is when the kit arrives will the dash come prewired and set up this way...
