The 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans will be the 78th race, taking place on June 12th-13th.
If the economy format for 2009 is used again in 2010, from 1800 until midnight on the Wednesday 9th. will be practise and night qualifying, and on Thursday 10th from 1900 to 2100hrs and again from 2200 until midnight will be race qualifying (for grid positions)/

( Yes I know the Le Mans Classic is one month later and I'm sure the enthusiasts of the classic will be starting a seperate thread some time soon).

Anyone going to the race?

No takers for the race then? I'll be there (at the race) from Monday 7th arriving in the afternoon until the following Monday morning. :drunk:
Well, I suppose it looks as though the Classic will be the one to go to in 2010.

Well if one gets paid for going to the 24 hours then it's only fair that a similar fiscal arrangement should be applied to the Classic!

This has to be one of the biggest breaking news stories in terms of GT motorsport I have ever been given the priviledge of being the first to know, so I thought I would let you all know on GT40s.com before it becomes public.

Vitaphone Racing will enter two Maserati cars at the 24hr du Le Mans 2010.

After extensive winter testing program with Michelin, and also radical aerodynamic changes combined with an increase in power, Maserati are back at La Sarthe.

Hi Thierry,
Will you travel in each day or stay overnight?

Few years ago, I was in Le mans on thursday to sunday sleeping in a tent or in my car (a Renault Espace "fully equiped")

Now with 2 young children (2 and 4 years old) it would be a real punishment for my wife...

With 10 other race WE.... without them, it's not very easy..

I've not deal yet with madame....

But if I come, it's to follow the full race... At least, i will be there on saturday morning until sunday afternoon

last year, I was not able to come to le mans, I've installed Eurosport 1 & 2 into my home theater dedicated room to follow the race....but it's not the same.. LIVE it's better !!!!

Okay David,
I always watch over here on SPEED and follow in the off air times on the computer. But, if one were to pick up and go to France (Given that the US$ hasn't collapsed under the increasing Socialist debt), where do you go for tickets? I don't know if my wife would go for camping. I do have a US Army survival tent that is nice and could travel easily. Hmmm I could leave her (wife) in Paris or near Giverny. I do need to see this once in my life life.
What say you?

I don't think tickets are really a problem. This is a good source for them: Tickets for Le Mans 24 hrs, Le Mans Classic, 24 Hours Moto, Moto Grand Prix, Le Mans Series
I'm quite sure they do tickets only but you can book the whole hog including accomodation with them.
Also you can book on this link as well - may be better as it's just tickets:

Paris is about 45 minutes to Le Mans Station on the TGV (Train Grand Vitesse) and
the new tram system is fantastic from the station to the circuit.
Camping is everywhere around Le Mans and the atmosphere in the campsites is incredible. One of our gt40s.com members Jim Pearson attends every year and sets up a camping site in the centre of the circuit on the Bugatti track area. I must remember to take a dinner suit /bow tie next year to attend one of his sumptuous dinners as it's quite formal and quite amazing.
The wole thing is quite amazing and you really need to do it once in your life.
The Classic, about one month later, is also becoming an established event but although I hope to attend before it's too late for me, I've not been to it yet.
